There are no "building lot" (1500-2000 m2) sized tracts currently in any of the developments here in Marbella, nor are there any planned. Marbella

Close proximity of the hills to the ocean allow for some incredible ocean views, even white water ocean views. This is the place to be for peace and quiet, unless of course the sounds of wildlife and crashing surf bothers you. Where you can go to one of many beautiful beaches and be completely alone. At the same time there are several nice restaurants in the area, offering both casual and very fine dining. There is an exceptional resort just to the south of Marbella called The Sanctuary which has two very good restaurants, a full service spa, amenities, and very nice rental condominiums.

The wildlife is abundant here with howler monkeys in the trees, iguanas scurrying across the roads, endless varieties of beautiful birds flying overhead, pelicans and condors in their fanciful glide. This place is a nature lovers dream come true.

Activities

Area activities include hiking or horseback riding thru the beautiful jungle or on the sandy beaches. There is incredible diving at many of the local beaches, and the most pristine white sand beach on the coast is a short drive south to San Juanillo.

You can shore fish off the many reefs for Pargo, Cubera Snapper, Snook, Grouper, Trivially and Ulua (Amberjack) which are all plentiful year round- not much competition around here. If you'd rather hunt your fish, the spear fishing here is incredible.

This area also boasts the best and most consistent surfing in the area, bar none. This stretch of beach used to be known as "secret spot" by the surfing community and is still fairly unknown. Marbella is a far enough away from the "surf towns" of Nosara and Tamarindo so we do not get the crowds, although we will often see surfers who have made the drive to Marbella because the surf here is so much bigger and better. The surf break consists of a nice and safe sand bottom with hollow right and left breaking waves, groomed by offshore winds. There is an outer reef "Bombora", and a left hand reef which is perfect for a long board on smaller days and fires both left and right on bigger days. Plenty of power. Challenging even for the most experienced surfers and different from day to day. Easy access, short paddle, and warm pristine water make this an ideal place for your surfing vacation hideaway. Other world-class surf spots in the area include Playa Junquillal, Playa Negra, Playa Avellanes, and Playa Guiones (Nosara) along with many other not so well known surf spots.

Community

The developers have taken a long hard look at some of the towns to the north and south and have been able to learn from the mistakes made due to poor planning, or no planning at all. We do not want Marbella to turn into another town with surf-all-day-party-all-night type of visitors. It is quiet here and we like it that way. If you are looking for a place to "blow off some steam" then you would probably not like it here, and with any luck, you never will. The vision here is for a more family minded, respectable resort community. An owner who will build his vacation home and have positive a relationship with the people, and respect for the land. This is the community we are trying to build here.
